Raynor vs Diablo - Heroes of the Storm Contest

Hello guys!! One more time blizzard offer another contest, and of course i´m on. This time its about Heroes of the Storm theme, for my entance i choose one of the shots from the cinematic, the Raynor vs Diablo, Starcraft vs Diablo.

I would like to show a little more about the process from the begining to the end. Take a look!

First of all i made a huge research about the theme and poses, i use a lot of my comics to find a pose, but all the poses and ideas wasn´t working on.

Well, than i´ve tried to paint just in shapes, turn simple the ideia and the gesture, and so.... it appears!

I liked the idea and the gesture, it works well. For the next step, basically i use this reference and start to draw over the image, thinking in details and proportions. Than define some shapes with colors and the volumes as you can see, in this caso in focus on the face of the Diablo. The rest of the steps has no secret, just paint and paint, this part is always the same, ajusting some lights, volumes giving some details and ambient colors ultil the end.
