Hey guys! Below has some thumbnail studies based on great painters, this kind of study is about how the colors combine in a mixture of tones and composition. I´ve saw this with a great artist, Nathan Fowkes , he usually suggest to develop your sense of color and comosition with this study. It´s a great technique to understand how it works with fast results, i totally suggest to try, its an amazing trick to start up your brain before a great paint or illustration.

Hey guys! how are you?
Below i will share with you my last month, June, and my development during the days and achievements.
As all artists around the world, i made some reference studies, poses, photos, all as possible to improve the brain idea of form, shape, shadows and compositions.
After some sketchs i did some illustrations to training my brain.
But ive wanted more, so ive started painting light references from movies, this time Hellboy movies of Guillermo Del Toro from the comics of Mike Mignola, below.
Now, writing the post i noticed how the colors importance ,that i still achieving, was introduced on each image, even my studies, the color theories, the mix of tones to make harmony between them. Amazing! So, lets continue...
During the days that have passed, i was passionate with the colors. I have started looking for color books, artists with focus on colors, i have founded a great painter that helps me to expand my eye, James Gurney, i suggest to take a look on his youtube channel HERE and his amazing book, Color And Light. And nowadays an amazing artist too, his career, his artwork is inspiring, Nathan Fowkes .
These two amazing artists help me to understand more about colors, the importance of the image to fit the idea with the armony of the strenght of colors, simple amazing.
After watching their materials, i´ve tried to improve myself, Nathan Fowkes helps a lot on this part, you must to test colors, made cloros studies of references as much as possible.
I have done those things below,
Below has some color studies, but a studie of the saturated colors combinations, how the colors behave between them, and of course, the reference study.
After all this jouney, i couldn´t stay quiet. I realize that i want simulations of the real things, i would like to paint with real color mixtures in photoshop. So i´ve started painting with a variations of brushes on differents set-ups to achieve that. For that, ive started loking for Alla Prima methods. Alla Prima is a technique of painting over a wet canvas with wet colors. Here is the link of what Alla Prima is on Wikipedia.
I would like to show you a little bit of the studies and experiments canvas and two examples of sketchs simulating the oil painting in digital, hope you enjoy that.
